For Love in New York, we spent time with Alana Paolucci between quiet moments in a classic New York hotel room and the energy of the city streets below. Below, we caught up with Alana to talk New York, personal style, confidence, creativity, and the power of a really good lingerie set.

For those who may be meeting you for the first time, tell us a little about yourself.
I'm so awkward with these things. My name is Alana Paolucci and I am a model, actor and I run a business that does social media management and creative for brands and businesses. Which essentially means I have very little time to myself. However, when I do, I really like to use that time to the fullest. During this time I spend as much time with my loved ones as I can, travel and explore, stay active, read, write and create. I know it's sort of vague, but I could make this section 100 pages long if I truly got into it. I'll spare you.
How would your friends describe you in three words?
I had to ask the group chat to make sure that I'm not making things up. Their responses were: loving, fierce, passionate and driven. That's 4 words, but I appreciate them so much.
Do you have any style icons or sources of inspiration?
I feel like my mother is my original style icon. Not only does she have great style, but growing up she always encouraged me to express myself via fashion and I feel like I have definitely had the confidence to experiment and build a true personal style because of that. No matter how much I got bullied for wearing something different, she always thought I looked cool. She's the best.
What makes you feel connected to blush?
I have felt connected to Blush since we first started interacting because your team is so kind, and I think your pieces really pull out the soft femininity in me.
You're often between New York and Los Angeles. What does each city bring out in you?
I love living between the two cities because they both bring out different energies in me. New York is social. I'm always out and running around and working on 20 different things at once. The culture is strong out here, so there's always art, theater, music, food and other great things to do. It ignites a certain type of creative energy from me. When I'm in Los Angeles, even if I'm very busy, there's something more restorative about my time there. I love a great hike, I am a slut for Erewhon and I don't care how basic that is, and the fitness and wellness community is better there than in the city. It also brings out another amazing side of my creativity since I have so many friends in similar industries there, so there's a lot of collaboration that goes on. Also, some of my best friends live there, and it gives me a slice of home.
New York plays such a big role in this shoot. What is it about the city that keeps pulling you back?
I moved to the city in high school and have spent many years of my life here, so there are just so many memories and incredible times I've had. New York has this energy that is difficult to describe. The city and our society has definitely changed in many ways over the years, but I think that there are still a ton of cool, interesting and vibrant people that live here that add to the culture instead of taking away from it.
This campaign is all about confidence, individuality, and embracing your own rhythm. How does blush fit into that part of your life?
What is beneath your clothes can give you as much confidence as what you're wearing. There's something so fun about knowing you've got the sexiest set on under your outfit and no one would ever know it.
There are moments in the campaign that feel straight out of a movie: walking through the city, taking in the skyline, getting ready in a beautiful hotel room. Which scene felt most like you?
The scenes that felt most like me are probably getting ready then heading out and walking through the city. A huge part of my time in the city is spent walking, and I will do it for hours a day (and in heels, at that).
What message do you think lingerie can send—even when no one else sees it?
I used to be the girl who never owned a bra and shifted to being someone who found it so iconic and empowering to own gorgeous lingerie sets. I think it makes me feel like a true adult, which feels funny to say.
The Lower East Side has such a distinct energy. What do you love most about that neighborhood?
I have spent so much time in the Lower East Side over the years. The food is incredible, there's tons to do at night, and the streets are always alive. I feel like each time you walk around in this area there is something new to discover.
What's your ideal New York day from start to finish?
I will set the scene as a perfect Saturday off. I wake up rested with my fiance and just hang out and laugh in bed for a bit, we grab a latte from one of our favorite local spots, go back home to read and write from a cozy spot. Then I will do a workout in some form—my favorite hot yoga class, a mat pilates class or head to the gym. After that, we would go explore the city with no true time constraints. Maybe head to a museum, go shopping, or grab a bite. At night I'd either go out somewhere sexy for dinner and drinks with friends and see where the night takes us, or have a dinner party or even just relax at home and watch a film with my man.
